Africa Fintech Summit Kigali 2026

Africa Fintech Summit (AFTS) is a pan-African fintech conference series connecting the global tech community with Africa's innovators, investors and policymakers. The Kigali 2026 edition is delivered in close collaboration with the Rwandan government, following an Accra summit that drew 1,163 in-person attendees, 2,145 virtual participants and 32 startups in the Alpha Expo pitch competition.

Programme

The agenda mixes keynotes, panels, fireside chats, masterclasses, product launches, partnership announcements, an exhibition, an awards ceremony and the Alpha Expo pitch competition for early-stage African startups. Main stage themes include:

• Fintech licence passporting, payment interoperability and the Kigali Declaration
• Capital markets, IPOs and local exchanges
• Remittances, diaspora investment and cross-border commerce
• Stablecoins, settlement, tokenisation and real-world assets
• AI infrastructure and AI for compliance
• Digital public infrastructure, open finance and lending

Strategic partner tracks

Dedicated sessions are run with strategic partners including the Africa Blockchain Institute, the Future of Finance Forum, Rwanda's Ministry of ICT, the CMA and KIFC, alongside capacity-building tracks for regulators, investors and financial services leaders.

Fintech founders and executives, banks and payment companies, investors, central bank and government officials, and ecosystem builders from across Africa. Curated ecosystem tours for global investors and a cultural networking session close the summit.
