Sharm El Sheikh X – International Conference on the Role of State Courts in International Arbitration

CRCICA's biennial conference on how state courts support and review international arbitration, for arbitrators, judges and counsel.

About this event

Sharm El Sheikh X is the tenth edition of the biennial conference run by the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA), which describes it as the world's only international conference dedicated to the role of state courts in international arbitration. It brings arbitrators, judges, in-house and external counsel, academics and arbitral institutions to the Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh every two years.

What's covered

The conference is built around a single theme: the relationship between national courts and international arbitration, from the support courts give to arbitral proceedings to their review and enforcement of awards. The series runs every two years, with recent editions in December 2018, 2022 and 2024, and the tenth edition keeps that focus for practitioners from the Middle East, Africa and beyond.

Who attends

The audience is made up of arbitration practitioners: arbitrators, judges and court officials, law firm partners and associates, corporate counsel, academics and representatives of arbitral institutions. Outreach partners for 2026 include institutions such as SIAC, HKIAC, CIETAC, the Permanent Court of Arbitration and the CIArb Egypt Branch.

Organiser

CRCICA is an independent, non-profit international arbitration centre based in Cairo, established in 1979, and one of the leading arbitral institutions in the Middle East and Africa. The conference programme and registration are managed directly by CRCICA.
