3rd Biointelligence Congress 2026

The Biointelligence Congress brings together industry, researchers and start-ups working at the intersection of biology, technology and computer science to build bio-based production systems. The third edition in Stuttgart, organised by Messe Stuttgart with Fraunhofer IPA, Fraunhofer IGB, the University of Stuttgart and the University of Hohenheim, is themed "Making Biointelligence Tangible" and pairs keynotes and case studies with an exhibition area.

Programme

The day opens with insights from the 2026 biointelligence benchmark and keynotes from IMEC, EMBL and Quantum BW, followed by a panel on Europe's research agenda for biointelligent manufacturing and the finalists' pitches for the Wittenstein Biointelligence Award. In the afternoon, parallel food, production and health tracks feature S-TEC tandem talks with companies such as BASF, Festo, CLAAS and Bosch Health Campus, then lightning talks, roundtables and a closing keynote from NVIDIA.

Exhibition and networking

Companies and research institutes show their work in an exhibition area, including the S-TEC Biointelligence Engine booth and start-ups supported by Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart. The day ends with a networking night shared with participants of the Quantum Effects fair next door.

Visitors from abroad can join an incoming delegation from 5 to 7 October 2026 with company visits and networking around the congress.
