BioWest 2027

BioWest is the western German edition of the BioMessen, a family of four regional trade fairs for the organic (Bio) industry. It gives buyers from organic and health-food retail a single day to see the full range of suppliers delivering nationwide, rather than only the products their own wholesaler lists. The 2027 edition takes place in Hall 14 of Messe Düsseldorf.

Who exhibits

Exhibitors are organic food and natural cosmetics companies that supply retailers across Germany, together with organic wholesalers and regional producers.

• Organic food manufacturers
• Natural cosmetics brands
• Organic wholesalers
• Regional producers such as wineries, beekeepers and cheese dairies
• Organic farming associations, including Bioland, Biokreis, Demeter and Naturland
• Health-food (Reformwaren) suppliers in the ReformWelt area

Who can visit

BioWest is open to trade visitors only, and product sales do not take place at the fair. Visitors must accredit in advance with proof of trade status, such as a business registration, a company business card or an invitation from an exhibitor.

• Natural food and health-food retailers
• Organic supermarkets
• Independent and specialty retailers
• Restaurants, catering and bulk consumers
• Manufacturers, producers and service providers in the organic sector

Standards and sustainability

All products shown at the BioMessen must meet certification requirements based on the assortment guidelines of the Bundesverband Naturkost Naturwaren (BNN), which is patron of the fairs. Since 2014 all four BioMessen have offset their emissions through humus-building projects on organic farms in Germany.

The BioMessen series

The fairs grew out of a 2004 in-house show held by the wholesaler Naturkost Nord. BioOst and BioWest run in spring, and BioNord and BioSüd in autumn.
