ITMA 2027

ITMA is the world's largest exhibition of textile and garment manufacturing technology, owned by CEMATEX (the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers) and staged every four years since 1951. In 2027 it returns to Hanover for the first time since 1991, filling 12 halls of the Messegelände with live machinery and solutions covering every step from fibre and yarn to finished garment and recycling.

Sector plan

The exhibition is organised by product sector so visitors can locate and compare technologies. The 2027 plan covers 20 sectors across more than 180,000 square metres, including:

• Colourants and chemicals
• Fibres, yarns and fabrics
• Recycling
• Software and automation
• Testing, research and innovation
• Start-Up Valley

Innovation focus areas

ITMA 2027 highlights four themes across the halls: advanced materials, automation and the digital future, sustainability and circularity, and human-centric manufacturing. The CEMATEX-funded Start-Up Valley gives 20 selected young companies from nine countries a stand to show innovations such as PFAS-free membranes, textile-to-textile recycling and fibre identification.

Who attends

ITMA is a trade exhibition for textile and garment manufacturers, brands, investors, research organisations and technology partners looking to source machinery, watch live demonstrations and meet manufacturers directly. Visitor registration is scheduled to open in March 2027.

Key figures

More than 1,500 companies from 43 countries had already secured space for 2027 by the time the sector plan was released. The 2023 edition in Milan drew 1,700 exhibitors from 47 countries and 111,000 visitors from 143 countries on 200,000 square metres of gross space.
