About this event
OpenAI DevDay is the company's yearly one-day conference for the developers building on its models and APIs. The 2026 edition brings engineers, technical founders and researchers to San Francisco to hear what OpenAI is shipping, try new tools hands-on and put questions directly to the teams behind them. Sam Altman opens the day with a keynote that anyone can watch online.
Who attends
The programme is aimed at hands-on technical builders who are already working with AI or about to start. In-person places are limited and given out through an application process, so the room is made up of invited developers rather than a general audience.

The opening keynote is streamed free and open to everyone, with a sign-up on the official site for a reminder.
