About this event

printpack alger is Algeria's international trade show for the packaging, printing, paper and tissue industries. The 12th edition is organised by fairtrade Messe and Messe Düsseldorf with local partner Genius event, is powered by drupa, and runs alongside its sister show plast alger. From 2027 the event moves to SAFEX's new Hall Palestine, opened in 2025.

Why Algeria

The organiser points to fast growth in Algeria's printing and packaging industries, driven by industrialisation, a growing population and a push to replace imported consumables with local production.

Imports of printing and paper technology rose from €57 million in 2016 to €131 million in 2024
Algeria is among Africa's three largest importers of printing and paper technology, with South Africa and Egypt
€225 million of packaging technology imports in 2024 made Algeria Africa's largest importer (VDMA)

The 2026 edition brought together 297 exhibitors from 21 countries. Printpack and plast alger feature national pavilions, including Austria (ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA), China, France (CCIAF), Germany (backed by the federal economy ministry, AUMA and VDMA), India, Italy (ITA, AMAPLAST, ACIMGA), Spain and Türkiye.
