XXIV World Congress on Safety and Health at Work 2027

The World Congress on Safety and Health at Work is the leading global meeting of the prevention community, held every three to four years by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Social Security Association (ISSA). The 24th edition is the first in Africa: it takes place at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center (CICAD) near Dakar, hosted by Senegal's Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Public Service Reform and the Caisse de sécurité sociale, under the theme "Uniting the world around a resilient and inclusive culture of prevention".

Congress themes

The programme is built around six themes:

• Safety and health governance and policy
• Prevention in developing countries
• Digital innovation and AI
• Mental health and well-being
• Climate change and emerging risks
• Decent work and ILO fundamental rights

Five days, five focuses

Each day has its own emphasis: the official opening on Monday, a Vision Zero day on Tuesday celebrating the strategy's tenth anniversary, the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on Wednesday, a professionals' day on Thursday and an African day on Friday.

Formats

Symposia, technical sessions, workshops, posters, an Innovation Zone, an exhibition hall, the Vision Zero prize and the International Media Festival for Prevention, plus a technical visit to the Ndayane multipurpose port construction site.
