How often does interbad take place?

Every two years, organised by Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH & Co. KG with the DGfdB.

Is there a conference?

Yes. The 71st DGfdB Congress runs alongside the fair: from 14:00 on 6 October and from 10:00 on 7 and 8 October, including an English-language international session. It needs a separate congress ticket.

About 6,700 parking spaces are available at the exhibition grounds, and the neighbouring airport car parks can also be used.

About this event

interbad is the biennial trade fair for swimming pools, saunas and spas at Messe Stuttgart, organised with the German Association for the Bathing Industry (DGfdB). Exhibitors from Germany and abroad show pool technology, sauna concepts and wellness equipment to operators, builders, planners and hoteliers, while the parallel 71st DGfdB Congress runs sessions on construction, technology and pool operations.

71st DGfdB Congress

Held as part of interbad on all three days (from 14:00 on 6 October, from 10:00 on 7 and 8 October), the congress covers pool construction and technology, personnel and the management of aquatic facilities. An English-language international session and a new personnel and operations session are part of the 2026 programme.

Supporting programme

The 2026 programme also lists the interbad Forum, the interbad Cube, an innovation award, a Sauna from Finland special area, an Aquabox excursion and a conference on the future of swimming by the Josef Wund Foundation.

Who attends

Public and private pool operators, pool builders and dealers, hotel managers, architects and planners, as well as association members. In 2024 the show had 276 exhibitors from 28 countries and almost 8,000 visitors.

interbad 2026, the international trade fair for swimming pools, saunas and spas, took place from 6 to 8 October at Messe Stuttgart, organized by Messe Stuttgart with the German bathing association DGfdB. The organizer reported about 7,500 visitors, a quarter of them from abroad, and around 300 exhibitors from 28 countries, with 82 percent of visitors involved in purchasing decisions. A new open stage in the hall, opened by open-water swimming world champion Thomas Lurz, ran alongside the 71st DGfdB Congress. The interbad Innovation Award went to Steuler-KCH for BekaBoost, ahead of The Pauly Group's chlorine-free Geomatrix soil filter and Aquarena's app-configurable SmartSlide water slide. The next interbad is set for 10–12 October 2028.
