13th Sharjah International Library Conference 2026

The Sharjah International Library Conference brings librarians from around the world to Sharjah alongside the Sharjah International Book Fair, which marks its 45th year in 2026. Organised by the Sharjah Book Authority with the American Library Association (ALA), the 13th edition combines pre-conference workshops with two days of presentations and discussions, all delivered in English and Arabic through simultaneous translation.

Programme

The three-day conference opens with optional full and half-day workshops on 7 November, followed by two full days of concurrent sessions led by an international roster of presenters. Topics span every type of library.

Who can attend

Registration is open to librarians affiliated with school, public, university, corporate, medical or government libraries. Private companies and publishers can take part only as registered sponsors or exhibitors.

Librarians' Lounge and exhibits

Delegates get access to the Librarians' Lounge and a library exhibit area where vendors present books and services selected for libraries, plus entry to the Sharjah International Book Fair, one of the major collection-development opportunities for library buyers.
