46th ICMM World Congress of Military Medicine 2026

The ICMM World Congress of Military Medicine is held every two years by the International Committee of Military Medicine, and its 46th edition comes to Abu Dhabi. It brings senior military medical leaders, clinicians, researchers, academics and industry partners together to share advances in operational medicine, field surgery, disaster response, humanitarian health and emerging medical technology, and to strengthen cooperation between military health services.

Programme structure

Workshops, the congress and the exhibition run on different days, so plan registration around them.

• Mon 9 Nov (Day 0): pre-congress workshops and specialist courses, registered separately
• Tue 10 - Fri 13 Nov (Days 1-4): scientific programme, plenary and hall sessions, focus group discussions
• Tue 10 - Fri 13 Nov: Exhibition and Technology Showcase, free to visit
• CME hours available across hall sessions, workshops and focus groups

Congress goals

The programme is built around five aims set by the organisers.

• Strengthen ties between military medical services worldwide
• Present the latest research, technologies and best practice
• Standardise approaches to medical support in operational and humanitarian settings
• Offer workshops, courses and hands-on demonstrations
• Showcase military medicine's role in disaster relief and peacekeeping

Who attends

Delegates span dozens of clinical and allied disciplines, from emergency medicine, trauma and orthopaedic surgery, anaesthesiology and critical care to aerospace and undersea medicine, nursing, paramedicine, pharmacy, rehabilitation, public health and digital health, as well as researchers, epidemiologists, medical educators and students. The organisers expect more than 2,000 delegates and 300+ speakers.
