Business events in Abu Dhabi: what is worth attending in 2026–27

Abu Dhabi's business event season runs from October to May, and its busiest stretch is October to January. On atndr's calendar, 12 of the city's upcoming business events fall in October 2026 alone, and four of its largest follow between November and January: ADIPEC 2026, Abu Dhabi Finance Week 2026, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2027 and IDEX & NAVDEX 2027. The season closes in May 2027 with Make it in the Emirates 2027 and the World Utilities Congress 2027.

Energy, finance, sustainability, industry and defence dominate. AI and health events have grown quickly and now fill much of October and November. Consumer technology, retail and most general trade fairs sit in Dubai instead, which is covered in the Dubai business events guide.

June to August is quiet, as it is across the Gulf. The live list of all 26 upcoming events, with anything added since, is on the Abu Dhabi events page.

Pick by sector first: most of Abu Dhabi's big events are the main meeting point for one industry.

Energy, water and utilities

ADIPEC 2026 runs 2–5 November 2026 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. It combines a large exhibition with 13 conference programmes, and its site cites more than 2,250 exhibiting companies and 1,800 conference speakers, figures that match the 2025 edition. The 2026 UN Water Conference (8–10 December 2026, ADNEC) is a UN conference on water and sanitation for governments, investors and businesses. The World Utilities Congress 2027 returns 25–27 May 2027, hosted by TAQA, for power and water utilities.

Sustainability and clean energy

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2027 runs 10–14 January 2027, hosted by Masdar, under the theme "Securing Systems. Sustaining Growth." It opens with the IRENA Assembly and includes the ADSW Summit and the Zayed Sustainability Prize. Masdar reports more than 60,000 attendees for 2026. World Future Energy Summit 2027 is the trade exhibition inside that week, 12–14 January at ADNEC. The Forbes Middle East Sustainability Leaders Summit 2026 (19–20 October 2026) is a smaller, two-day summit on the same themes.

Finance, investment and leadership

Abu Dhabi Finance Week 2026 runs 7–10 December 2026 around ADGM Square on Al Maryah Island. It is a week of linked events, including Asset Abu Dhabi and Fintech Abu Dhabi, and the organizer reports 35,000 participants for 2025. Reuters NEXT Gulf 2026 (21 October 2026, St. Regis Saadiyat Island) is an invitation-only Reuters summit for policymakers, investors and CEOs. The Forbes Middle East Family Business Summit 2026 (28–29 October 2026) is a first edition for family enterprises and family offices. The ADIA Lab Symposium 2026 (26–28 October 2026, Four Seasons Al Maryah Island) is a free research forum on AI with Nobel laureates among its speakers.

Technology and AI

Ai Everything Abu Dhabi 2026 runs 6–7 October 2026 at ADNEC, with a summit on day one and an expo across both days. The Global AI Show Abu Dhabi 2026 follows on 18–19 November 2026 at Space42 Arena. For narrower rooms, The Arabian AI & Agentic Summit 2026 (26 October) covers agentic and conversational AI, the Digital Transformation Summit UAE 2026 (4 November) is for CIOs and CTOs, and CYSEC UAE 2026 (22 October) is a cybersecurity summit for government and enterprise security leaders.

Health

The Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026 runs 20–22 October 2026 at ADNEC and aims for 16,000 international attendees. The 46th ICMM World Congress of Military Medicine (9–13 November 2026) is a congress for military medical leaders with a free exhibition. Revive ME 2026 (11–12 November) covers longevity and health technology.

Industry, food and agriculture

Make it in the Emirates 2027 runs 3–6 May 2027 at ADNEC. It is organised by ADNEC Group with the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology as host. KEZAD Connect 2026 (12–13 October 2026) is KEZAD Group's industrial conference and exhibition. Global Food Week 2026 (6–8 October 2026) is the city's food security and agri-food show, and it reported more than 40,000 attendees in 2025. VIV MEA 2027 (23–25 November 2027) is a feed-to-food trade show for poultry, dairy and livestock.

Defence and government

IDEX & NAVDEX 2027 runs 25–29 January 2027 at ADNEC. IDEX covers land, air and CBRNE defence, and NAVDEX covers naval security. The 2025 edition reported 206,000 visitors and 1,565 exhibitors. For public-sector teams, the 4th Government CX Summit 2026 (21 October 2026, The Ritz-Carlton Grand Canal) covers citizen services, and the GCC GOV HR & Youth Summit 2026 (20–21 October 2026) covers public-sector HR.

Most large business events in Abu Dhabi happen at one venue, ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. Once you know an event is at ADNEC, you can book a hotel nearby.

ADNEC hosts ADSW and WFES in the same week, so the whole sustainability week can be done from one hotel. During ADIPEC and IDEX, the hotels closest to ADNEC fill early and cost more. October 2026 is also crowded: ADNEC runs Ai Everything, Global Food Week, KEZAD Connect and the Future Health Summit within three weeks.

Check your visa status first, then book your hotel and register for your badge.

• Visa. Many nationalities can enter the UAE visa-free or get a visa on arrival. Everyone else needs a tourist visa before travel. The official UAE government portal, u.ae, says these can be arranged through airlines such as Etihad and Emirates, licensed travel agents or hotels, or directly with the federal immigration authority.
• Arrival. Zayed International Airport (AUH) is the city's airport; many visitors also fly into Dubai and drive down.
• Badges. Register online before you arrive. The large exhibitions (ADIPEC, WFES, IDEX, Make it in the Emirates) run online visitor registration for industry professionals. Summits such as ADFW sell delegate passes, and some, like Reuters NEXT Gulf and the Digital Transformation Summit, are invitation-only. Check the ticket link on each atndr listing.
• Timing. Check each day's opening hours before planning meetings; multi-day weeks such as ADSW put different forums on different days.

Treat the flagship weeks as programmes, not single events. ADSW and ADFW are each made up of many linked forums, and the useful rooms are often the smaller ones.

1. Map the week before you book. ADSW spans five days, but its summit runs on two of them. Choose the days that fit your goal.
2. Stack October. AI, health, food, industry and leadership events cluster in October 2026, so one trip can cover several.
3. Book meetings early. The large shows open their meeting tools a few weeks before the doors open, and senior diaries fill fast.
4. Pair Abu Dhabi with Dubai. The two cities are close enough to combine in one trip.
5. Register with a work email. Trade visitor passes are meant for industry professionals, and defence shows check who registers.
