ACNDT'2026 – 8th African Conference on Non-Destructive Testing

Pan-African conference on non-destructive testing for engineers, researchers, inspectors and industrial decision-makers.

About this event

ACNDT'2026 is the 8th African Conference on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), organized by CETIME and the African Federation for NDT (AFNDT) with support from the Tunisia Africa Business Council (TABC). Over two days at the Parc des Expositions du Kram, it brings engineers, researchers, industrial companies and policymakers from more than 30 African countries together with international partners such as ICNDT and the IAEA/AFRA programme.

Four themes

The scientific programme runs along four axes, from advanced methods to the specific challenges of developing NDT across Africa.

  • Innovations and technologies: ultrasonics (PA, TOFD, guided waves), radiography and tomography, eddy currents, thermography, acoustic emission, robotic and drone inspection, AI and digital twins
  • Standardisation and certification: ISO 9712:2021 training and qualification, harmonised African standards, mutual recognition, lab accreditation
  • Industrial applications: pipelines and infrastructure, oil and gas, renewables, aerospace, rail and maritime, mining, automotive, nuclear
  • Africa challenges and opportunities: capacity building, regional cooperation, NDT startups

Programme

Day one opens with addresses from CETIME, AFNDT, ICNDT and Tunisian authorities, followed by a keynote on global and African NDT challenges and a plenary on AI and digitalisation in NDT, then the official conference evening. Day two covers NDT for pipelines and energy infrastructure, the AFRA programme, parallel sessions, a round table on the future of NDT in Africa and a digital-twins tutorial.

Exhibition

A technology exhibition with live demos from equipment makers, startups and NDT service providers runs alongside the conference, which is co-located with the SAPRI industrial show.
