Which registration packages are available?

One Day, Two Day and Full Delegate Packages. The Full Delegate Package adds tickets to the Welcome Reception and BCLA Celebrates. Members get discounted rates, a Newly Qualified and Students rate applies automatically, and 20% VAT is added at checkout.

Can I visit the exhibition only?

Yes. Exhibition-only access is free but requires advance registration and does not include conference sessions or catering.

Are group rates available?

Yes. Groups of 5 or more delegates booking Two Day Packages can save up to 30%.

Can I get a visa invitation letter?

Yes. International delegates can request one by completing the conference invitation request form and returning it to the BCLA.

About this event

The BCLA Clinical Conference & Exhibition is the British Contact Lens Association's annual meeting for contact lens and anterior eye practitioners. The 2027 edition at the ICC Birmingham marks 50 years of the BCLA with a refreshed two-day programme of clinical education, hands-on learning and networking for clinicians, researchers and industry from around the world.

Five learning tracks

The draft programme is organised in five tracks.

Application Track: the main track with dual keynotes on 50 years of contact lenses and the future of the profession
Clinical Track (new for 2027): science-informed clinical management and patient-centred care
Cutting Edge Track: research papers on myopia control, ocular health and AI in eye care
Two Skills Development workshop streams: contact lens fitting, independent prescribing, myopia management and dry eye

Programme highlights

The conference hosts the launch of the BCLA CLEAR Astigmatism report, bringing together evidence and expert consensus, alongside an international speaker faculty. Selected sessions are recorded, and CPD points are available where applicable.

Exhibition

Leading suppliers of contact lenses, ocular surface products, equipment and technology exhibit alongside the conference, with an Exhibitor Product Pavilion of short exhibitor-led sessions and a display of scientific posters. Exhibition-only access is free with advance registration.

Networking

A BCLA Welcome Reception on the evening of Friday 18 June and the BCLA Celebrates evening on Saturday 19 June are included in the Full Delegate Package or can be booked separately.
