denkmal 2026

denkmal is the leading European trade fair for conservation, restoration and old building renovation, held every two years in Leipzig. Manufacturers of materials and tools, specialist craft businesses, restorers and heritage institutions show their products and expertise to heritage authorities, architects, planners, owners of historic buildings and the trades. The 2026 edition is complemented by the Lehmbau earth-building fair, a new archaeology exhibition area and MUTEC, the trade fair for museum and exhibition technology.

Who exhibits and visits

Exhibitors include national and international market leaders in materials and tools, specialised craft businesses, restorers, associations, societies and foundations. Visitors come from specialist authorities and preservation offices, craft businesses, architecture and planning practices, investors and owners of historic buildings, along with volunteers and young professionals.

Programme highlights

denkmal 2026 is organised around five thematic pillars and a specialist programme of talks and discussions. New features this year include the DENK(M)AreaL format on bringing research into practice and an Archaeology exhibition area run with CIfA Deutschland.

Key figures

The 2024 edition, together with MUTEC, brought 499 exhibitors from 26 countries and 13,400 visitors to Leipzig. The fair is supported by Germany's heritage and restorers' associations, including the Verband der Restauratoren (VDR) and the Deutsches Nationalkomitee für Denkmalschutz (DNK).
