When and where is IDEF 2027?

The 18th International Defence Industry Fair takes place from 3 to 9 May 2027 at the Istanbul Expo Center (İstanbul Fuar Merkezi), Yeşilköy, Bakırköy, on the European side of Istanbul.

IDEF is a specialised trade fair for professionals directly or indirectly involved in the defence industry. Visitors must be over 18 (unless they document that they work in the sector), apply online, show ID at the entrance and wear a badge; weapons are not allowed on site.

Does it cost anything to visit?

No, visiting IDEF is free of charge.

Is visitor registration open?

Not yet. Visitor applications for IDEF 2027 have not started; the process will be announced on the official website.

What are the opening hours?

The organizer will announce the IDEF 2027 hours once confirmed. In 2025 the fair opened 10:00 to 17:00, with 15:00 closing on the last day.

About this event

IDEF is the International Defence Industry Fair held every two years in Istanbul. The 18th edition, IDEF 2027, is hosted by the Turkish Ministry of National Defence with the support of the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), managed by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV) and organised by KFA Fuarcılık. It brings the whole defence industry under one roof, from armoured vehicles and warships to satellites, cyber defence and military logistics.

Exhibition scope

The fair is organised around six areas of the defence and security sector.

Land: armoured vehicles, weapon systems and logistics support
Naval: warships, submarines, amphibious vehicles and maritime security
Aerospace: combat aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles and satellite systems
Security: border security, counter-terrorism, cyber defence and crisis management
Transport, logistics and support services
Supply materials and equipment: tactical clothing, communications and technical gear

Formats

Besides the exhibition, IDEF hosts official delegations, planned B2B meetings and contract signing ceremonies coordinated by the Presidency of Defence Industries. Defenders of Tomorrow is a dedicated platform for defence start-ups and university projects.
