About this event
IMAS is an IEEE symposium on microwave and antenna technologies, sponsored by the IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S) and the Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S). After editions in Egypt (2023), Morocco (2024) and Kenya (2025), the 2026 symposium comes to Jeddah, with KAUST's Prof. Atif Shamim as General Chair. Accepted papers are published in IEEE Xplore.
Technical scope
The programme combines peer-reviewed papers, keynotes, invited talks, special sessions, tutorials and dedicated workshops.
- Quantum computing
- Computational electromagnetics
- MMICs
- Modern antennas
- mmWave RF systems
- Microwave imaging
- Phased-array antennas
- Material measurements
Beyond the papers
IMAS 2026 also runs IEEE Young Professionals competitions and panels, a Women in Engineering research forum, an IEEE SIGHT panel, an industry exhibition, and a KAUST workshop on AI-enabled microwave sensing and communication on the KAUST campus.
Who attends
Academic researchers, graduate students and industry engineers working in RF, microwave and antenna design, test and measurement, along with equipment vendors and the regional defence and electronics industry.
