Per the preliminary schedule: Monday, February 1, 9:30am–6:00pm; Tuesday, February 2, 9:00am–5:00pm; Wednesday, February 3, 9:00am–1:00pm.

How much does registration cost?

Full conference for industry participants is $1,155 (member) or $1,455 (non-member) at the early-bird rate through December 7, 2026, rising to $1,555/$1,855 onsite. Academic/government rates start at $1,045/$1,345, students at $135/$175, and an exhibition-only pass at $425/$455. Members registering by November 2, 2026 get a further discount.

Is there a virtual option?

No. There is no live-streaming registration; selected content will be recorded and made available on SLAS APPLIED after the event.

About This Event

SLAS2027 International Conference & Exhibition is a Healthcare event taking place 30 Jan - 3 Feb 2027 at San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, United States.

SLAS2027 is the annual international conference and exhibition of the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening, returning to the San Diego Convention Center. Under the theme "Momentum: Accelerating Discovery through Automation, Innovation and Collaboration", it brings academic, industry and government researchers together with what SLAS calls North America's largest gathering of laboratory automation technology and service providers. Co-chairs are Joe de Rutte (Partillion Bioscience) and Julea Vlassakis (Rice University).

Scientific programme

SLAS plans more than 20 pre-conference short courses, about 150 podium presentations, two scientific keynotes and 400+ posters. Podium sessions are organised into educational tracks plus a sample management mini-track.

Exhibition

The exhibition is open February 1–3 and covers providers of automation systems, liquid handling, imaging and high-content screening, mass spectrometry, microfluidics and organ-on-a-chip, ELN/LIMS and lab software, robotics, sample management, consumables, CRO services and start-ups. Exhibitor Tutorials and Solutions Spotlight presentations run on the floor.

Biologists, chemists, engineers, data scientists, sample managers and laboratory automation users from pharma, biotech, academia and government. SLAS expects more than 7,000 life sciences researchers and lab automation professionals.

Around the conference

Short courses run January 30–31, with the offsite Technology Provider Showcase on January 30 and the Thrive in Science women's leadership forum on January 31. The main programme opens on February 1 with keynotes on the Main Stage, NexusXp flash talks and panels, SLAS Ignite Award presentations, a Monday evening party in the Gaslamp Quarter and a Tuesday community reception.
