16th Watany Ophthalmology Summit (WOS 2026)

The Watany Ophthalmology Summit (WOS) is the yearly scientific meeting hosted by Watany Eye Hospital in Cairo. The 2026 edition is the 16th summit and marks 25 years of the hospital's work (2001 to 2026), bringing ophthalmologists together for three days at InterContinental Citystars.

Who attends

The summit is built for practising ophthalmologists, eye surgeons, residents and fellows from Egypt and the region, along with the ophthalmic industry that supports them. Speakers present through the organiser's speaker service centre, so the meeting is run as a full scientific congress rather than a short seminar.

What's covered

WOS covers the main subspecialties of modern eye care, with lectures, case discussions and video presentations from Egyptian and visiting faculty. The organisers publish an at-a-glance programme for the 2026 edition on the summit website.

• Cataract and refractive surgery
• Cornea and anterior segment
• Retina and vitreoretinal surgery
• Glaucoma
• Paediatric ophthalmology and oculoplastics

Organisation

The summit is organised for Watany Eye Hospital by RM Events, the Alexandria conference office that also runs several of Egypt's national ophthalmology society meetings. Delegate and sponsor enquiries go to RM Events at conferences@rmsolutions.net.
