2nd Desert Architecture KSA Forum 2026

The Desert Architecture KSA Forum returns for its second edition as a national platform for climate-responsive, culturally grounded architecture in Saudi Arabia. Its programme centres on the Saudi Architectural Map and its 19 regional styles, and on how that framework can be applied to cities, giga-projects and public infrastructure in line with Vision 2030.

What's covered

Two days of keynotes, panels and case studies, with focused sessions on landscaping (day one) and lighting (day two).

• Building Saudi Arabia's architectural identity through the Saudi Architectural Map
• Adaptive reuse and regeneration of existing assets
• Future facades: aesthetics, performance and climate resilience
• Desert cities, regional planning and urban vitality
• Lighting design and dark-sky principles in desert destinations
• Low-carbon construction and passive design with local materials

Who attends

Architects, master planners, developers, government and municipality officials, academics and giga-project teams, alongside technology and material suppliers. 2026 speakers include representatives of ROSHN, Diriyah Company, Red Sea Global, Misk City, AlUla Development Company, King Salman Park Foundation, Foster + Partners, Snohetta and Zaha Hadid Architects.

Exhibition and awards

An exhibition runs alongside the conference sessions, and day two closes with a recognition award ceremony before the forum ends at 16:20.
