About this event

The 31st ESCRS Winter Meeting brings the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons to Cairo for four days of education and scientific exchange on anterior segment surgery. ESCRS organises the meeting in co-operation with the Egyptian Ophthalmological Society (EOS), together with the Egyptian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (EgSCRS) and the Egyptian Society of Ocular Implants and Refractive Surgery (ESOIRS), and MCI is the official organising bureau.

Who attends

Cataract and refractive surgeons, cornea specialists, young ophthalmologists and industry partners from Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The Winter Meeting rotates between host countries each year and is held in Egypt for the 2027 edition.

What is covered

The programme focuses on the innovations shaping eye care, with a call for free paper abstracts and a dedicated Young Ophthalmologists video competition, alongside an industry exhibition and sponsorship programme.
