4th IFSO MENAC Congress 2026

The IFSO MENAC Congress is the regional meeting of the Middle East and North Africa Chapter of IFSO, the international federation for the surgery of obesity and metabolic disorders. The 4th edition comes to Manama with Dr. Amer Alderazi, President of the Bahrain Medical Society, as Congress President, and covers the full range of obesity care, from surgical and endoscopic techniques to nutrition, genetics, AI and multidisciplinary pathways.

Programme

The congress opens with a day of hands-on workshops, followed by two days of plenary sessions, free papers and video sessions in two halls, with industry symposia at lunch.

• New techniques and innovations in metabolic and bariatric surgery

Who attends

Bariatric and metabolic surgeons from across the Arab world and beyond, together with the integrated health professionals involved in obesity care: nurses, dietitians and nutritionists, psychologists, internists and anaesthetists. Registration fees cover all sessions, the exhibition and CME certificates.

Faculty

Confirmed speakers so far come from Bahrain, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Pakistan, led by IFSO MENAC President Dr. Ali Khammas and Congress President Dr. Amer Alderazi.
