Alimentaria FoodTech 2026

Alimentaria FoodTech is the trade show for machinery, technology and ingredients across the whole production chain of the food and beverage industry, from raw materials through processing and preservation to commercial distribution. It is the new name of a show that started in 1984 as Tecnoalimentaria and later ran as Bta. and FoodTech Barcelona, and it is now run by the organisers of Alimentaria. The 2026 edition fills Hall 2 of the Gran Via venue.

What's on the show floor

The exhibition is organised by the stages of the food value chain, so production and engineering teams can compare suppliers side by side.

• Processing equipment: slaughterhouse and cutting-room machinery, mixers, centrifuges, high pressure, pumps and casings
• Intermediate food products, additives, flavours, colourants and nutraceuticals
• Packaging, bottling, coding, labelling and weighing
• Automation, robotics, software, IoT and sensors
• Hygiene, analysis, X-ray and metal detection
• Cold chain, storage, handling and logistics
• Engineering, consulting and industrial services

Programme and awards

Alongside the stands, FoodTech Innovarena acts as the show's innovation hub with start-ups and talks, FoodTech Ingrenova showcases intermediate food products, and the FoodTech Innova and FoodTech Emprende awards, now in their fourth edition, recognise research and new businesses. Partner programmes include FATE (Food & Agri Tech Europe) and the KM ZERO Food Innovation Hub.

Who attends

Admission is for industry professionals only. Hosted Buyer and Key Buyer programmes bring international and national purchasing managers, and dedicated routes exist for distributors, R&D teams and investors. Visitors can also enter EFINTEC, the installation and energy show running on 7 and 8 October in the same venue.
