How much does registration cost?

At the standard rate (from 28 September) a full conference costs £724 for FIS participating society members and £858 for non-members; one-day and two-day rates are available. Trainees, nurses, pharmacists and non-consultant scientists from participating societies pay £536 for the full conference.

What does registration include?

Access to sessions and the exhibition, the Lowbury Reception on 24 November, lunch and refreshments on the days attended, and presentation recordings after the event.

Delegates from low and middle income countries are eligible for a 15% discount by emailing the conference team for a code.

How do I get to the SEC?

The SEC has its own railway station, Exhibition Centre, and is just off the M8 with multi-storey parking. Glasgow Airport is 13 km away.

About this event

FIS International, the Federation of Infection Societies conference, is the largest UK-hosted international infection conference. The 2026 edition in Glasgow is hosted by the Healthcare Infection Society (HIS) in partnership with the British Infection Association (BIA) and brings together infection professionals at all career stages from clinical and research backgrounds.

Programme

Three days of plenary lectures, debates, clinical cases, oral and poster presentations, workshops and quizzes, with a trade exhibition and social programme. The scientific programme is built from session proposals by 10 to 15 participating societies and organisations each year.

Who attends

Infection prevention and control practitioners, infectious disease specialists, clinical microbiologists and virologists, biomedical and laboratory scientists, epidemiologists, public health practitioners, pharmacists, nurses, trainees and researchers. The conference attracts around 600 to 800 delegates a year.

Exhibition

Companies can exhibit or sponsor to meet up to 700 healthcare professionals working on infection diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control, and receive a post-conference delegate contact list.
