About this event

GeoConvention is Canada's largest integrated earth science conference, held every year in Calgary by the GeoConvention Partnership of geoscience societies. The 2027 edition returns in person to the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, bringing geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists and engineers together with energy companies and technology suppliers.

Technical programme

The programme is built from sessions proposed and chaired by the geoscience community; the 2027 Call for Sessions closed on September 25, 2026. For scale, the 2026 edition featured nearly 400 technical presentations alongside keynotes, poster sessions and networking events.

Exhibition and networking

An exhibition floor with programming, a core showcase and receptions sits at the centre of the event, and companies can sponsor or book exhibition space for 2027. Field trips, workshops and student programmes, including the Student Travel Assistance Program, run around the main conference.
