Smart City Expo World Congress 2026

Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) has been held in Barcelona since 2011 and is the premier global event for cities, bringing leaders together to tackle urban challenges. The 2026 edition fills Halls 2 and 3 of Fira Barcelona Gran Via from 3 to 5 November with an exhibition, a congress and the World Smart City Awards.

Who attends

City officials, national and regional governments, corporations, investors, researchers and academia. The organiser expects 27,000+ in-person attendees from 990+ cities, 1,190+ exhibitors and 600 speakers in 2026; in 2025, 55% of attendees were decision-makers and 27% held government-related positions.

Beyond the conference

The exhibition hosts city and country pavilions, and attendees can join Urban Innovation Tours, guided walks run with Build Tours to Barcelona's innovative projects and public policies. The Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress is co-located with the event.
