About this event

SUPERMARKET TRADE SHOW (SMTS) is the National Supermarket Association of Japan's annual exhibition for the food distribution industry, focused on supermarkets. The 61st edition at Makuhari Messe gives suppliers the chance to meet leaders from retail, wholesale, ready-meal and food service businesses and find new partners and trends.

What's on

Besides the exhibition, the show runs a seminar stage, the Bento and Prepared Meal Awards 2027 ceremony and a reception party. It is run by an executive committee drawn from supermarket retailers, exhibitor representatives and industry advisers.

Who attends

Buyers and executives from supermarkets and other food retailers, wholesalers and trading companies, ready-meal and food service operators. Planned official supporters include the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Consumer Affairs Agency, JETRO and the U.S. Agricultural Trade Office.
