automatica 2027

automatica is Messe München's leading exhibition for smart automation and robotics, held every two years in Munich. It presents what the organiser calls the world's largest portfolio of robotics and automation solutions across the value chain, with a focus on practical applications and on major topics such as Physical AI. The 2027 edition runs alongside Laser World of Photonics and World of Quantum.

The fair is structured into sectors that cover the full automation chain, all in the halls around the East Entrance of the Munich fairgrounds.

munich_i high-tech platform

munich_i is a joint project of automatica, Messe München and the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI) at the Technical University of Munich. It combines a high-level Hightech Summit on robotics and AI, a special show and the Robothon developer challenge.

Key figures (2025)

The 2025 edition, the most visited automatica so far, drew almost 49,300 visitors from more than 90 countries and about 800 exhibitors from 40 countries, with 1,120 robots on show, 14 showcases and stages and more than 270 keynotes. International visitors made up 38 percent.

Co-located events

Laser World of Photonics, the trade fair and congress for photonics components, systems and applications, and World of Quantum take place on the same dates, with identical opening hours to automatica.
