elektrotechnik 2027

elektrotechnik is the biennial trade fair for the electrical sector at Messe Dortmund, bringing together electrical contractors, industry and wholesale with architects, planners, energy consultants and utilities. The 2027 edition focuses on building technology, energy technology and industrial technology, with lighting gathered in its own themed hall. The previous edition drew around 400 exhibitors from 15 countries and 20,000 trade visitors.

What's covered

The exhibition is organised around three focus areas plus a dedicated lighting hall.

• Building technology: smart building, electric heating, ventilation and air conditioning, BIM software
• Energy technology: photovoltaics, energy storage, switchgear and charging infrastructure
• Industrial technology: automation, sensors, control engineering, switch cabinet construction, measuring technology and MES
• Light and lighting technology in Hall 7, with its own entrance

New in 2027

Messe Dortmund is launching Inolope CX, a congress on CO2-free buildings for architects and planners, on 16 and 17 February 2027 alongside the fair. A first Startup Area, run with Founders Fight Club and Mittelstand-Digital, brings digitalisation, AI and climate-neutral construction start-ups to the show, with a Founders Fight Night pitch event.

Who attends

Most visitors come from the electrical trades, industry and wholesale, utilities, energy consultants, grid operators and municipalities, and architecture, planning and engineering offices. According to the organiser, 68 per cent of visitors are decision-makers or involved in decisions, and most travel from North Rhine-Westphalia and neighbouring regions including the Benelux.
