Pan Mediterranean Geotechnical Engineering Conference (PMGEC 2027)

PMGEC is the inaugural Pan Mediterranean Geotechnical Engineering Conference, organised by the Lebanese Geotechnical Engineering Society under the auspices of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE). Under the theme of bridging borders, it gathers professionals, researchers and industry from around the Mediterranean to tackle the region's shared ground and foundation challenges. The organising committee moved the conference to 27-30 October 2027, and existing registrations, accepted abstracts and speaker invitations carry over.

Keynote speakers

Six keynote speakers have been announced, with further speakers added progressively to the schedule: Jean-Louis Briaud (Texas A&M), Antonio Gens (UPC BarcelonaTech), Giulia Viggiani (University of Cambridge), Kemal Önder Çetin (METU), Chadi El Mohtar (UT Austin) and Rami El-Sherbiny (Cairo University).

Workshops and exhibition

The programme includes industry workshops run by Rocscience and Huesker, sponsorship and exhibition opportunities for companies, and a conference dinner at the Saint George Yacht Club and Marina across from the venue.
