Business events in Muscat: what is worth attending in 2026–27

Muscat's business event season runs from October to May. The busiest stretch is October to December 2026: 15 of the 22 upcoming Muscat events on atndr fall in those three months. A second cluster comes in April and May 2027, when energy, water, sustainability and construction shows follow each other at the same venue. June to August is quiet, and the calendar restarts in September.

The timing follows the weather. Oman's official tourism site, Visit Oman, describes October to March as pleasant and cool, April and May as warmer, and June to September as hot.

Muscat's calendar is built around national trade exhibitions, most of them backed by a ministry or a state company. They put Omani government buyers, operators and contractors in one place. Pick by industry first, then by format: an exhibition is for meeting suppliers and buyers on a show floor, a conference or summit for the programme and the people in the room. Technology

COMEX 2027 runs 1–4 February 2027 at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC). It is the 35th edition of a show that has run since 1990. The floor is split into five areas: e-government, enterprise, fintech, tech startups, and gaming and esports. Visitor access is free, and registration through the COMEX app is required for entry. Smaller formats fill the autumn: CYSEC Oman 2026 (19 November, Sheraton Oman Hotel) for security leaders and Enterprise AI Expo 2026 (2–3 December, Sheraton Oman Hotel) for enterprise AI buyers. Telecom carriers meet at the Middle East 2026 GCCM & SIS Summit at The St. Regis Al Mouj.

Energy, water and sustainability

The Oman Petroleum & Energy Show 2027 and Oman Sustainability Week 2027 run side by side at OCEC on 26–28 April 2027. OPES is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. Its 2026 edition reported 207 exhibitors from 18 countries and 347 speakers. Oman Water Week 2027 follows on 2–6 May 2027, with a conference, an exhibition, technical masterclasses and site visits. For power utilities, IEEE PowerTalks 2026 (12–14 October 2026) is hosted by Nama Electricity Distribution.

Construction, real estate and interiors

Four shows cover the built environment. Oman Home & Building Expo 2026 (5–8 October 2026) runs with Urban October. Project Oman 2026 (2–4 November 2026, 5th edition) covers building materials, machinery and infrastructure. IDF Oman 2027 (12–14 January 2027) is for fit-out and furniture. The largest is Oman Design & Build Week 2027 (18–21 April 2027, 22nd edition). Its 2026 edition reported 34,000 attendees and 160 exhibitors, and visitor tickets are free.

Healthcare

18th Gulf Heart Association Conference (GHA 2026) runs 12–14 November 2026 at OCEC for cardiologists, surgeons and nurses. IMTEC Oman 2026 (23–25 November 2026, 7th edition) focuses on hospitals and medical tourism. The Oman Health Exhibition & Conference 2027 runs 20–22 September 2027 in Hall 4 at OCEC.

Food, industry, logistics and finance

Oman AgroFood 2026 (1–3 December 2026, 8th edition) is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth & Water Resources. It shares its dates with the IORA Aquaculture & Fisheries Business Forum & Exhibition 2026. The week after, LOGISTEX 2026 (8–9 December) covers ports, free zones and supply chains, and 10th Oman Plast 2026 (8–10 December) covers plastics, petrochemicals and packaging. OFSEC 2026 (19–20 October, 10th edition) is the fire, safety and security show. For capital markets, The Network Forum Middle East Meeting 2026 (2–3 November) brings together custody and post-trade specialists.

Almost every large business event in Muscat is held at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC). Of the 22 upcoming Muscat events on atndr, 18 are there. The other four are conferences and summits in hotels.

OCEC opened in 2016 on Sultan Qaboos Street in Al Athaiba. It is owned by Omran, Oman's tourism development company. According to the venue, it is about 4 km from Muscat International Airport, roughly 10 minutes by road. Its five exhibition halls add up to 22,396 square metres of column-free space. It also has two auditoriums for 3,200 and 456 people, 20 meeting rooms, a Grand Ballroom for up to 1,100 guests and a multi-storey car park for 4,000 vehicles. A JW Marriott is linked to the centre, and a Crowne Plaza sits in the same precinct.

Because the main venue is close to the airport, a one- or two-night trip is enough for most trade shows.

It depends on your passport. Visit Oman, the official tourism site, states that citizens of GCC countries do not need a visa. It also says citizens of 103 countries can enter without a prior tourist visa and stay for up to 14 days. That covers most short trips to a trade show.

• Check your nationality first. The Royal Oman Police eVisa portal has an eligibility checker. It asks for your nationality and whether you live in a GCC country.
• Apply early if you need a visa. All visas are applied for online through the Royal Oman Police portal. Visit Oman advises applying at least 4 days before you travel, with a passport valid for 6 months from arrival and two digital passport photos on a white background.
• Exhibitors and staff. If you are building a stand or working at the event, ask the organizer which visa it recommends. Several Muscat shows, including OFSEC and Oman Plast, publish travel or visa guidance for exhibitors on their sites.
• Dress and timing. Business attire is the norm at conferences and exhibitions. Many trade shows open late morning and run into the evening (COMEX runs 10:00–21:00 daily), so check the hours on each event page.

Plan around the weeks when shows share OCEC, and register before you fly.

1. Pick the week, not just the event. Shows cluster. On 1–3 December 2026, Oman AgroFood and the IORA fisheries forum run together. On 8–9 December, LOGISTEX and Oman Plast overlap. On 26–28 April 2027, OPES and Oman Sustainability Week share the venue.
2. Register in advance. Most trade exhibitions are free for visitors who register online, and COMEX will only admit visitors registered through its app. Conferences such as GHA 2026 charge delegate fees. Our guide to free visitor passes explains how trade registration works.
3. Use the matchmaking services. Project Oman and Oman AgroFood offer free B2B matchmaking. COMEX and LOGISTEX run deal and matchmaking programmes. Book meetings a few weeks before the show.
4. Book hotels early in the busy weeks. November and December 2026 are the densest months, and several shows overlap.
