IEEE PowerTalks 2026

IEEE PowerTalks is an annual conference and exhibition for the power and energy sector in Oman, now in its 5th edition. The 2026 edition is hosted by Nama Electricity Distribution with the IEEE Oman Section and IEEE Power & Energy Society as event partners, and focuses on how Oman is scaling renewables, modernising its grids and preparing for green hydrogen.

The programme combines plenary discussions, technical workshops and masterclasses across generation, transmission and distribution, with a strong emphasis on energy efficiency and storage.

Masterclasses on 14 October

Four masterclasses run in the OCEC meeting rooms on the final day, led by technology companies and consultancies.

Who attends

The organizer targets policymakers, utility executives and power engineers alongside consultants, IPPs, investors, oil and gas operators, large industrial companies, engineering firms and technology and service providers from the GCC, MENA, South Asia, East Africa and Europe.

Key figures

The 2025 edition drew more than 3,500 participants from over 50 countries, according to the organizer. For 2026 the site promises 60+ expert speakers, and an exhibition runs alongside the conference. The 11th Shuraka (Partners) Gathering of Nama Electricity Distribution is held with the event.
