Which business events in Berlin are worth attending?

Berlin's best-known business events are three global trade fairs run by Messe Berlin, plus a deep calendar of medical congresses. These are the events to know, by industry.

Travel, food and consumer technology

ITB Berlin 2027 (16–18 March 2027, daily 10:00–18:00) has been the meeting place of the global travel industry since 1966. It is now a three-day trade event, with halls grouped by world region and the ITB Berlin Convention alongside. FRUIT LOGISTICA 2027 (3–5 February) covers the fresh fruit and vegetable trade from seed to point of sale, in three segments: fresh produce, machinery and technology, and logistics. IFA Berlin 2027 (3–7 September) is the consumer electronics and home appliance show where brands launch products to retailers before the year-end season; it also opens to the public, but trade visitors get their own hours and lounge.

Technology and digital business

SAP TechEd Berlin 2026 (27–29 October 2026) is SAP's technical conference for developers and architects, marking 30 years of TechEd. next.app devCon 2027 (29 September–1 October) brings eight mobile developer conferences, including droidCon and swiftCon, to CityCube Berlin. E-commerce Berlin Expo 2027 (17–18 February) is for online retailers and their service providers.

Finance and investment

FIBE 2027 – Fintech Festival Berlin (7–8 April) brings fintechs, banks and investors to CityCube Berlin. bio:cap 2027 (29–30 June) is Messe Berlin's life science and AI "Investival", with pre-booked one-to-one meetings between founders and investors.

Healthcare and medical congresses

Berlin is one of Europe's main congress cities for medicine. EULAR 2027 (9–12 June) is Europe's rheumatology congress, DGPPN Congress 2026 (25–28 November 2026) draws around 10,000 psychiatry and psychotherapy professionals, and Hauptstadtkongress 2027 (29 June–1 July) gathers German hospital managers, payers and health policymakers. Smart Health Europe 2027 (26–28 October) is a new expo and conference for digital health, organised with Bitkom.

Security, logistics and building services

Berlin Security Conference 2026 (3–4 November 2026) is a defence policy congress with about 140 speakers; Lithuania is the 2026 partner nation. BVL Supply Chain CX 2026 (21–22 October 2026, Estrel Congress Center) is Germany's main supply chain congress. CMS Berlin 2027 (21–24 September) covers professional cleaning on more than 34,000 m² of exhibition space.

Where do business events in Berlin take place?

Most business events in Berlin take place on the Messe Berlin grounds in Westend. Messe Berlin says its exhibition grounds offer 190,000 m² of event space and 27 halls, plus CityCube Berlin and hub27 next to them. A few congresses use hotels and the Estrel Congress Center.

Venue Address What it hosts
Messe Berlin exhibition grounds Messedamm 22, 14055 Berlin ITB, FRUIT LOGISTICA, IFA, SAP TechEd, CMS, EULAR
CityCube Berlin Messedamm 26, 14055 Berlin DGPPN, DKOU, FIBE, next.app devCon, bio:cap
hub27 Jafféstraße 2, 14055 Berlin Hauptstadtkongress
Estrel Congress Center Neukölln BVL Supply Chain CX
Vienna House by Wyndham Andel's Berlin Landsberger Allee 106, 10369 Berlin Berlin Security Conference

CityCube and hub27 sit on the same site as the halls, so it is worth checking the entrance your event uses: SAP, for example, sends visitors to the South Entrance on Jafféstraße.

How do you get to Berlin's event venues?

Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is the city's airport. FRUIT LOGISTICA's visitor information puts the trip from BER to the exhibition grounds at about 45 minutes by taxi or about 60 minutes by public transport with a zones ABC ticket.

  • By train: the S-Bahn station Messe Süd is about 250 m from the Messe Berlin South Entrance, according to SAP TechEd's directions.
  • By car: SAP lists the P17 and P18 car parks next to the South Entrance at EUR 15 per day.
  • Tickets: several Messe Berlin fairs sell tickets online only. ITB and FRUIT LOGISTICA have no box offices on site, and Smart Health Europe sells no day tickets at the venue. Buy before you travel.
  • Visas: visitors who need a Schengen visa should ask the organizer for an invitation letter; next.app devCon, for example, issues one after you buy a ticket.
  • Hotels: the big fairs (ITB, FRUIT LOGISTICA, IFA) fill rooms across the city, so book as soon as your dates are fixed. Westend and Charlottenburg are closest to the grounds.

How do you make the most of a Berlin trade fair or congress?

Treat Berlin trade fairs and congresses differently.

  1. Trade fairs are trade-only or have trade hours. FRUIT LOGISTICA is open to trade visitors only and its tickets are non-refundable. IFA admits trade visitors from 9:30 every day and opens its Trade Visitor Lounge at 8:00 via the Messe Süd entrance, before private visitors arrive.
  2. Congresses reward early registration. EULAR 2027 registration opens on 2 November 2026 with early fees until 31 March 2027; Hauptstadtkongress offers super early-bird prices until 31 October 2026.
  3. Conference passes can be expensive. SAP TechEd Berlin lists EUR 1,999 standard and EUR 1,699 public sector, excluding 19% VAT, with no day passes. The Berlin Security Conference charges EUR 3,500 excluding tax for industry participants, while parliamentarians attend free.
  4. Use the matchmaking. bio:cap and FIBE are built around meetings between founders, investors and banks; book meetings before you arrive.
  5. Combine events. FRUIT LOGISTICA and E-commerce Berlin Expo are two weeks apart in February, and IFA and CMS Berlin both fall in September 2027.
