E-world energy & water 2027

E-world energy & water is Europe's leading trade fair for the energy industry, held every February at Messe Essen. Energy suppliers, municipal utilities, industrial companies, consultancies, research institutes, associations and IT providers meet to discuss supply security, storage, digitalisation and the energy transition. For 2027 the show expands into Halls 7 and 8 with a new focus area, 'Resilient Infrastructure'.

Who attends

Trade visitors mainly from energy suppliers, municipal utilities (Stadtwerke), service providers, commercial customers and research and development. According to the organizer, seven in ten guests at the 2026 edition were decision-makers with purchasing responsibility. E-world is a trade-visitor fair focused on the exchange of professional information.

Programme

Four forums run inside the halls, alongside the Tag der Kommunen (Municipalities Day) for cities and municipal companies, returning in 2027 after its 2026 debut, and a Career Day for young talent. A call for papers for the 2027 programme is open.

Key figures

The 25th edition in February 2026 set records with 1,136 exhibitors and more than 37,000 trade visitors from 126 nations, with over 30 percent of exhibiting companies coming from abroad.
