Which Doha business events are worth attending?
Doha has fewer events than Dubai or Riyadh, but several of them draw a global audience. Choose by industry first, then by format: an exhibition is for meeting suppliers and buyers on a show floor, while a forum or summit is about the programme and the people in the room.
Technology and telecoms
Web Summit Qatar 2027 runs 31 January – 3 February 2027 at DECC. It is built around startups, investors and founders. A general attendee ticket is listed at QR1,595 on the official site. MWC26 Doha (8–10 November 2026, DECC) is the GSMA's Doha edition of MWC. Its first edition in 2025 drew 9,500 attendees from 110 countries and territories, according to the organizer. The 2026 edition runs alongside ITU PP-26, the International Telecommunication Union's plenipotentiary conference. For a one-day enterprise format, Future AI Summit Qatar 2026 is on 25 November 2026 at Hilton Doha. For a wider regional shortlist, see the top technology events in the Gulf.
Security
Milipol Qatar 2026 runs 20–22 October 2026 at DECC. It is organized by Qatar's Ministry of Interior with Comexposium and covers policing, civil defence, border security and cybersecurity. The Doha International Conference on AI Security 2026 runs on the same dates at the same venue, so one trip covers both.
Policy, investment and health
Doha Forum 2026 (5–6 December 2026) is the 24th edition of the policy forum, themed "Redefining Global Trust". Attendance is by expression of interest, not open sale. The World Investment Forum 2026, UNCTAD's ninth edition, runs 25–27 October 2026. WISH 2026 (29–30 November 2026, Qatar National Convention Centre) is Qatar Foundation's health policy summit, with open online registration.
Real estate, food, hospitality and trade
Cityscape Qatar 2026 runs 27–29 October 2026 at DECC with free registration. Food Qatar 2026 and Hospitality Qatar 2026 share DECC on 12–14 October 2026. Qatar Travel Mart 2026 (7–9 December 2026) is the travel trade show, and INDEX Design Qatar 2026 (6–8 October 2026) covers interiors and fit-out.
Healthcare
Two medical exhibitions bracket the season. QMED 2026 runs 14–16 October 2026 at the Qatar National Convention Centre. Qatar Medicare 2026 runs 14–16 December 2026 at DECC, alongside Qatar Beauty & WellCare 2026.
Where are Doha's main event venues?
Two venues host most of Doha's large business events: DECC and QNCC. Check which one your event uses before you book a hotel, because they sit on opposite sides of the city.
| Venue | Area | What it hosts | Examples (2026–27) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Doha Exhibition & Convention Center (DECC) | West Bay | Most trade exhibitions and the big tech shows | Web Summit Qatar 2027, MWC26 Doha, Milipol Qatar 2026, Cityscape Qatar 2026, Qatar Travel Mart 2026 |
| Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) | Education City, Al Rayyan | Summits, medical congresses and some exhibitions | WISH 2026, QMED 2026 |
| Hotels (Sheraton Grand Doha, Hilton Doha, Pullman Doha West Bay) | West Bay | Forums and one-day summits | Doha Forum 2026, World Investment Forum 2026, Future AI Summit Qatar 2026, Qatar STEM Leadership Summit 2026 |
DECC sits in West Bay, Doha's business district. According to the venue, it is about a 20-minute drive from Hamad International Airport and has its own stop, DECC station, on the Doha Metro Red Line, nine stops from the airport. The venue also lists more than 20 hotels within walking distance and 2,800 parking spaces. QNCC is in Education City, the Qatar Foundation campus in Al Rayyan, west of the centre. If your event is there, a hotel in West Bay means a longer daily commute.
Do you need a visa to attend an event in Doha?
Many visitors don't. Qatar offers visa-free entry to citizens of 102 countries, according to Visit Qatar, the national tourism authority. Everyone else applies online for an e-visa through the Hayya platform. Check your own nationality on the Visit Qatar visa page before you book.
- Visa-free entry. Your passport must be valid for at least three months from the day you arrive, and you need a confirmed hotel booking on arrival.
- GCC citizens enter without a visa.
- Residents or visa holders elsewhere. Some nationalities who hold a valid visa or residence permit for Schengen countries, the UK, the US, Australia, New Zealand or Canada can get an entry visa on arrival or apply for a Hayya visa in advance. The fee on arrival is QAR 100.
- Hotel bookings through Discover Qatar. For some nationalities, a visa on arrival depends on booking the hotel through Discover Qatar before travel.
- Exhibitors and staff. If you are working on a stand rather than visiting, ask the organizer which visa it recommends. Many shows publish a visa or travel page for exhibitors.
Rules change. Treat this as a checklist and confirm on the official page close to your travel date.
How do you get the most out of a Doha business event?
Plan around weeks, not single events. Doha's shows cluster, and one trip can cover two or three of them.
- Pick a cluster. 12–16 October 2026 covers Food Qatar 2026, Hospitality Qatar 2026 and QMED 2026. 20–29 October brings Milipol Qatar 2026, the World Investment Forum 2026 and Cityscape Qatar 2026. Late November to mid-December pairs WISH 2026 with Doha Forum 2026 and Qatar Medicare 2026.
- Register early. Most trade exhibitions here are free for industry professionals who register online in advance. Conferences charge for passes: MWC Doha lists an exhibition pass at $599 and a leaders pass at $1,299. Our guide to free trade show visitor passes explains who qualifies.
- Book the hotel with the badge. The visa-free route asks for a confirmed hotel booking on arrival, and rooms near DECC go first in busy weeks.
- Use the metro for DECC. The Red Line stops at the venue, which saves you the West Bay traffic at opening and closing time.
- Book meetings before you fly. Web Summit Qatar and MWC Doha both run apps and meeting tools for attendees. Use them in the weeks before the event.
- Dress for business. Business attire is the norm at conferences and exhibitions in Doha.
