Healthcare events in Saudi Arabia 2026–27: congress, conference or exhibition?

Saudi Arabia's healthcare events for the 2026–27 season cluster between late October and mid-December, and almost all of them are in Riyadh. The two largest are trade exhibitions run by Tahaluf at the Riyadh Exhibition & Convention Centre (Malham): Global Health Exhibition 2026 in October and CPHI Middle East 2026 in December, with the biotech partnering event BIO Middle East 2026 on the same dates and site. Between them sit a society-run clinical conference, a rehabilitation trade show, a psychiatry congress in Jeddah and a small executive evening.

The three labels describe who the event is built for. A congress is built around clinical education, an exhibition around buying and selling, and a conference or summit around policy, investment and management. Many Saudi events mix formats, so read the programme, not just the name.

Clinical congress. The scientific programme is the product. The 19th International Conference on Psychiatry is an example: Al-Sobh Hospital, part of Saudi German Hospitals Group, hosts it with the Saudi Psychiatric Association, and its topic list runs from psychosis and mood disorders to child and old-age psychiatry. You go for the sessions and the peers, not for a supplier floor.

Trade exhibition. Exhibitors pay for stands to meet buyers. CPHI Middle East 2026 is a pure example. Its exhibitor sectors cover machinery, active ingredients (API), excipients, finished dosage, packaging and contract services. Its FAQ calls it a trade event and states that no one under 18 is admitted.

Conference or summit. These are about decisions above the ward level: financing, digital transformation, workforce and prevention. HLTH ELEVATE 2026, run by the Saudi Scientific Society for Preventive Health, sits between a congress and a summit. It is CME accredited, and its audience also includes founders, researchers and policymakers.

Hybrid. Global Health Exhibition 2026 is an exhibition with four conferences attached: the Leaders Summit and MEDX Forum (CME), the Digital Health Forum (CME and CPD) and the Capital Xchange Forum for investors (CPD). One badge serves a surgeon, a hospital CEO and a distributor, each on a different route.

Match the event to your job, not to its size. The largest show is the right choice for suppliers and buyers. For a specialist building clinical skills, a society conference is often better.

Hospital leaders, investors and health-tech founders

Global Health Exhibition 2026 runs 26–29 October 2026 at Malham. The organizer lists 2,200+ exhibiting brands and more than 100 hours of CME-accredited sessions for 2026. New for this edition are a Leaders' Circle for senior officials, reverse pitching (health organisations present the problems they need solved), and investor breakfasts limited to investors and VIP pass holders. The evening before, Digital Health Evening 2026 (25 October, Radisson Blu Al Sahafa) is a short evening format aimed at digital health firms entering the Saudi market.

Pharma manufacturers, suppliers and buyers

CPHI Middle East 2026 runs 14–16 December 2026 at Malham. The 2024 edition welcomed 30,000+ visitors from 100+ countries, according to the organizer. For 2026 it expects 60,000 visitors and 1,000+ exhibiting brands. Opening hours on 14 December are 9:00 to 19:00.

Biotech companies, investors and research institutes

BIO Middle East 2026 runs 14–16 December 2026 at Malham, co-located with CPHI Middle East. It is a partnering event: one-to-one meetings for licensing, partnerships and investment are booked in advance through the partneringONE system. Its agenda covers cell and gene therapies, mRNA, next-generation vaccines and biomanufacturing. Choose it for licensing partners or investors, CPHI for suppliers.

Clinicians who want education

HLTH ELEVATE 2026 runs 3–5 December 2026 in Riyadh. It lists 16 tracks, 6 workshops, about 2,000 attendees and 50+ exhibitors, with a programme on preventive health, lifestyle medicine and longevity. Mental health professionals should look at the 19th International Conference on Psychiatry in Jeddah on 26–28 November 2026. It is organised with the Saudi Psychiatric Association in partnership with the World Psychiatric Association. The agenda and registration had not been published when this guide was updated.

Rehabilitation and disability services

Saudi International Rehab Expo 2026 runs 2–3 December 2026 at The Arena Riyadh. It covers rehabilitation services, assistive technology and inclusive care. Its 2025 edition reported 81 exhibitors, 7,200 visitors and 10 countries.

Exhibitions are cheap or free to walk. Conferences with accredited education charge, usually on a sliding scale by profession. Prices below are the 2026 rates on the official sites in September 2026, in Saudi riyals (SAR).

Members of the Saudi Scientific Society for Preventive Health pay less: SAR 400 for health professionals and SAR 100 for students. Offer prices end on fixed deadlines. Travel, hotels and visas are extra.

CME (continuing medical education) credits are hours of accredited education that count towards keeping a professional licence. Several Saudi events advertise them. What matters is which body accredited the hours and whether your licensing authority accepts them.

• Global Health Exhibition 2026 advertises more than 100 hours of CME-accredited sessions across its conference stages and workshops for 2026.
• CPHI Middle East 2026 says attendees can earn up to 75 CME credits across the CPHI Middle East and BIO Middle East 2026 conferences.
• HLTH ELEVATE 2026 is marked CME accredited. Its cheapest public ticket (SAR 200) explicitly excludes CME.

Before you book for credits, check three things. First, whether your ticket type includes the accredited sessions. Second, the accrediting body named on the certificate. Third, how the organizer records your attendance at each session. A general pass that covers the show floor does not always cover every accredited workshop.

Start from what you need to walk away with, then filter.

1. Define the goal. Credits and clinical updates point to a congress. Suppliers, distributors or buyers point to an exhibition. Partners, funding or policy contacts point to a summit or a hybrid show's leadership track.
2. Read last year's evidence. Look for a post-show report with exhibitor and visitor counts, and for the year those figures refer to. A first edition has no track record, so check the organizer.
3. Check who can register. Trade exhibitions may admit only professionals over 18. Clinical workshops can be limited by profession. Investor sessions may need a specific pass.
4. Price the full trip. Add the pass, hotel nights near the venue, flights and visa. Compare it with what one good meeting or set of credits is worth.
5. Plan meetings before you arrive. Use the exhibitor list and the event app to book slots. At a show with thousands of exhibitors, walking the floor without a list wastes a day.
6. Confirm the dates on the official site. Organizers sometimes move venues or days.
