Technology events in the UAE: how to choose the right one in 2026–27

Start with your objective: AI partnerships point to Dubai AI Festival, 26–27 October at DWTC. Data-centre procurement points to DCD Connect MENA, the same dates at Grand Hyatt Dubai. Founders seeking investors should compare Expand North Star, 8–10 December at Expo City, with the broader GITEX expo. These are different audiences, not interchangeable conferences.

GITEX: As checked on 17 October 2026, the official Visitor Pass costs AED 465 including 5% VAT, with the early-bird offer expiring on 24 October 2026. It covers exhibition access and free-to-attend conferences at Expo City Dubai from 8–11 December, plus the networking app. It excludes the 7 December Summit at DWTC, certified training and workshops. Past events: Agentforce World Tour Dubai’s 14 October edition has ended and has been removed from the upcoming calendar and price comparison.

These are targeted checks of the named events, not a new verification of every entry in the calendar below.

The UAE's technology calendar runs from October to May, split between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Late October is the densest stretch for AI and data centres, December is GITEX week, and the season closes with cybersecurity in May 2027. Dubai hosts the large expos at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and Expo City Dubai; Abu Dhabi hosts AI summits and research forums.

AI: Dubai in October, Abu Dhabi in November

Dubai AI Festival 2026 runs 26–27 October at DWTC and is built around deal-making between AI companies, enterprises and investors. On 26 October, The Arabian Chatbot & Agentic AI Summit 2026 is a one-day summit at ADNEC on conversational and agentic AI. ADIA Lab Symposium 2026 (26–28 October, Four Seasons, Al Maryah Island) is a research forum with Nobel and Turing laureates, free in person or by livestream. Global AI Show Abu Dhabi 2026 follows on 18–19 November at Space42 Arena.

Data centres and connectivity

DCD Connect | MENA 2026 runs 26–27 October at the Grand Hyatt Dubai, with the DCD Investment Forum co-located. Data Center World Middle East 2026 (17–18 November, Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi) is Informa's conference and expo on AI-ready infrastructure. Capacity Middle East 2027 (15–18 March 2027) serves carriers and cloud providers.

Founders and investors

Expand North Star 2026 is GITEX's startup and investor event, running 8–10 December alongside the main show. Its 2025 edition reported 2,050 exhibiting startups and more than 1,300 investors. Step Dubai 2027 (3–4 February 2027, Dubai Internet City) is smaller and built around founder–investor meetings.

Choose the format by what you want to leave with.

• Large expo with conference stages. GITEX Global 2026 and GISEC Global 2027 are show floors first, with conference stages alongside. Best for comparing suppliers and generating leads.
• Paid conference with an exhibition. Dubai AI Festival 2026, Global AI Show Abu Dhabi 2026, Data Center World Middle East 2026 and Dubai FinTech Summit 2026 centre on the speaker programme and networking. The expensive tiers add attendee lists and pre-booked one-to-one meetings.
• Vendor-run event. Red Hat Summit: Connect 2026 Dubai and the Microsoft AI Tour Dubai are single-day events run by one supplier. Expect product demos and labs, not a neutral market view.
• Invitation-only or hotel summit. Digital Transformation Summit UAE 2026 and Proof of Talk Abu Dhabi 2026 admit by invitation; CYSEC UAE 2026 and 4th Government CX Summit 2026 are one-day Abu Dhabi hotel summits.

Entry ranges from free to several thousand dollars. Show floors are cheap; the price rises with conference access and arranged meetings. These are the prices on the official ticket pages on 13 October 2026. Prices rise in phases, so check before you buy.

The GITEX Visitor Pass includes 5% VAT. It covers the exhibitions at Expo City Dubai for GITEX Global, Expand North Star and LivX from 8 to 11 December, plus the free conferences. It excludes the Summit at DWTC, certified trainings and workshops. Capacity Middle East offers US$800 off for registrations by 30 October 2026.

26–28 October splits across two cities. In Dubai, Dubai AI Festival 2026 (DWTC) and DCD Connect | MENA 2026 (Grand Hyatt Dubai) both run on 26–27 October. In Abu Dhabi, The Arabian Chatbot & Agentic AI Summit 2026 (ADNEC, 26 October) and ADIA Lab Symposium 2026 (26–28 October) overlap. Pick one city per day rather than shuttling between them.

1–11 December is GITEX week, and five events on atndr fall inside it:

1. 1–2 December: Blockchain Life 2026 at Festival Arena, Dubai Festival City, for crypto and Web3. Every ticket also covers the co-located AI Future Forum.
2. 3–4 December: Proof of Talk Abu Dhabi 2026 at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, an invite-only digital assets summit.
3. 7 December: the GITEX Summit at DWTC, for ministers, investors and C-suite leaders.
4. 8–11 December: the GITEX Global 2026 expo at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai.
5. 8–10 December: Expand North Star 2026 and GITEX Future Digital Assets Forum (FDX) 2026 run inside the same week at Expo City.

Expo City Dubai and DWTC are separate venues, so book a hotel near the one you will use most.

Start from the result you need, then check the evidence. Work through these checks in order:

1. Your goal. Buying: an expo with a published exhibitor list. Selling: an event whose attendees are your buyers. Raising money: an investor programme.
2. The audience. Job roles and industries matter more than headline attendance.
3. What the pass includes. Check whether it covers the conference stages, the summit day or only the show floor.
4. The city. Dubai has the large expos; Abu Dhabi has research forums and AI summits.
5. The track record. A recurring event should show a previous agenda, speaker list or exhibitor list.
