Global energy policy
World Energy Congress 2027 runs 26–29 April 2027 at Riyadh Front. It is the 27th edition of the World Energy Council's congress, co-hosted with Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy. The organizer expects more than 18,000 energy stakeholders, more than 100 ministers and more than 150 exhibitors. It is the one Saudi energy event in 2026–27 that draws a global policy audience. Future Minerals Forum 2027 plays the same role for mining. Its 2027 edition runs 12–14 January at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center (KAICC) in Riyadh. The organizer reports that the 2026 edition drew 21,500 participants and 132 agreements and MoUs worth SAR 100 billion.
Oil, gas and the Aramco supply chain
iktva Forum 2027 runs 11–14 January 2027 at Dhahran Expo. It is Aramco's forum for its local-content programme, which Aramco launched in 2015. The 2027 edition adds TecShift, Aramco's open-innovation initiative for start-ups and inventors. Smaller technical meetings fill the Eastern Province calendar: SIGHT Symposium 2026 on seismic imaging (26–28 October 2026, hosted by Aramco's exploration team), the 10th PCIC energy Middle East 2026 with the IEEE-IAS Saudi Arabia Section (10–11 November), RAMCON 2026 on plant reliability (24–26 November, Mövenpick Al Khobar) and STATIC ARABIA 2027 on static equipment (7–9 September 2027, Dhahran Expo).
Solar, storage, power and grids
Saudi Elenex 2026 runs 2–5 November 2026 at RICEC. It is the 27th edition of a show for electricity, renewable energy, HVAC-R, lighting and water technology, held alongside ISK-SODEX Saudi. Three weeks later, Solar & Storage Live Riyadh 2026, Climatech 2026 and MOVE Riyadh 2026 share Riyadh Front on 23–25 November. Solar & Storage Live covers residential, commercial and utility-scale solar and storage; Climatech covers cooling, heating and building management; MOVE covers mobility and charging. In December, the Saudi Arabia Smart Grid Conference 2026 brings the Ministry of Energy, Saudi Electricity Company, ACWA Power and Aramco engineers to the Sofitel Riyadh on 14–16 December, and EVS Saudi Arabia 2026 fills Dhahran Expo on 14–17 December.
Water, waste and the environment
IDWS 2026, the Innovation Driven Water Sustainability Conference, runs 14–16 December 2026 at The Ritz-Carlton Jeddah. It is the fifth edition, hosted by the Saudi Water Authority, and pairs a three-day conference with an exhibition and the Global Prize for Innovation in Water. IFAT Saudi Arabia 2027 was moved to 4–6 September 2027 at Riyadh Front. It is the Kingdom's trade fair for water, wastewater, waste and recycling technology, held under the patronage of the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture.
Conference or exhibition: which Saudi energy event format fits your goal?
Go to a trade show to meet buyers and suppliers; go to a congress or forum to meet the people who set policy and approve budgets. In Saudi Arabia the two are easy to tell apart, because the policy events are government-hosted and the trade shows are run by commercial organizers.
- Trade exhibitions (Saudi Elenex, Solar & Storage Live, Climatech, EVS Saudi Arabia, IFAT Saudi Arabia) are built around a show floor. They suit suppliers looking for distributors, contractors, developers and utility buyers.
- Government-hosted forums (World Energy Congress, Future Minerals Forum, iktva Forum, IDWS) are built around a programme and announcements. They suit people in policy, investment, procurement strategy and partnerships. iktva is the exception that mixes both: it is where Aramco's procurement teams meet suppliers.
- Technical conferences (PCIC energy Middle East, RAMCON, SIGHT, STATIC ARABIA, the Smart Grid Conference) are built around papers and engineers. They suit specialists and the vendors who sell to them. Several take paper submissions: the Smart Grid Conference's full-paper deadline is 31 October 2026.
If you sell equipment, start with the trade shows. If you need a meeting with an Aramco, Ministry of Energy or Saudi Water Authority decision-maker, the government-hosted forums are where those people speak and walk the floor.
How much do Saudi energy and environment events cost to attend?
Most Saudi energy trade shows are free for industry professionals who register in advance. The large policy events charge for delegate passes.
| Event | Visitor access | Paid options |
|---|---|---|
| World Energy Congress 2027 | Exhibition floor is included in delegate passes | Standard delegate USD 3,000 until 15 January 2027, then USD 3,900 |
| Solar & Storage Live Riyadh 2026 | Exhibition and conference free to attend | Premium networking pass |
| Climatech 2026 | Free registration | Stands and sponsorship for exhibitors |
| MOVE Riyadh 2026 | Free registration | Stands and sponsorship for exhibitors |
| Saudi Elenex 2026 | Online visitor pre-registration | Stands and sponsorship for exhibitors |
| IDWS 2026 | Visitor registration for the exhibition | Conference tickets on the official site |

Prices change each edition, so check the ticket link on each atndr listing before you budget. Book Riyadh hotels early for the late-November Riyadh Front week.
How do you choose the right Saudi energy event?
Start from the buyer you need to meet, then pick the event where that buyer shows up. Four checks help:
- Match the buyer. Aramco and its contractors gather at iktva Forum and the Eastern Province technical conferences. Utilities, developers and EPC contractors walk Solar & Storage Live and Saudi Elenex. Ministries and investors attend the World Energy Congress and the Future Minerals Forum. Water utilities and desalination operators go to IDWS.
- Use co-located weeks. Solar & Storage Live, Climatech and MOVE share one Riyadh Front week in November. EVS Saudi Arabia and Gulf 4P share Dhahran Expo in December. One trip covers several audiences.
- Check the city. Riyadh for policy and trade shows, the Eastern Province for oil, gas and petrochemical engineering, Jeddah for water.
- Confirm your badge. Check which halls and sessions your pass includes before you book flights.
If you have budget for one trip, choose by sector: iktva Forum in January for oil and gas supply, Solar & Storage Live in November for renewables and storage, IDWS in December for water, or the World Energy Congress in April for policy and investment. For the UAE side of the Gulf season, see energy and environment events in the UAE; ADIPEC and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week sit between the Saudi dates, so one Gulf trip can cover both countries.
